Add or associate work items to epic

Once, you have now successfully created your epic in Zoho Sprints, you can either add or associate an existing work item to your epic. 
Add new work items - Introduce new work items from your epic.
Associate existing work items - Associate existing work items from your active, completed, or upcoming sprints or your backlog to your epic. This way, you can complete the relevant work items that fall under the same type of work. 

Add new work items to epic

You can add new work items when you create an epic. There are two ways to do this:  

Add new work items from epic module screen
  1. Select Epics from the left panel.
  2. Click + next to the epic name.
  3. Enter the work item details in the Add New Item form.  
  4. Click Save.

Add new work items to your epic from the backlog screen 
  1. Select Backlog from the left panel.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Enter the work items details.
  4. Select the Epic that you wish to associate the work item with.
  5. Click Save.
Only the Admin, Project Manager, and Epic Owner can add new work items to an epic.

Associate existing work items to epic

If you already have a list of work items in your backlog, upcoming, active, or completed sprints that are relevant to the epic that you have created, you can associate them to your epic. 

Associate existing work items from epic screen
  1. Select Epics  from the left panel.
  2. Click next to the epic name.
  3. Choose the Associate Existing Item form.
  4. Select the backlog or sprint. 
  5. Select Mapped in Epic Mapping to associated the list of work items that are already mapped to another epic. Alternatively, select Unmapped to associate the list of work items that are not mapped to any of the epics.
  6. Select the list of work items relevant to your epic in bulk.
  7. Click Associate.
  • Only the Admin, Project Manager, and Epic Owner can associate work items to an epic.
  • You can select a maximum of 50 work items in bulk to associate them to an epic.
  • You can only associate a parent item with an epic.
Associate existing work items from backlog screen
  1. Select  Backlog  from the left panel.
  2. Select the work items in bulk.
  3. Click Associate Epic.
  4. Choose an epic from the drop-down.
  5. Click Associate.


Move work items  

You can also move the work items across the sprints, the backlog, or epic. 
  1. Navigate to  Epics from the left panel.
  2. Drag and drop the work items from the backlog to another sprint from within your epic.
  3. Drag and drop the work items from one epic to another.
  • You can only move the parent items to a different epic or sprint.
