Add Pictures using URL, Web Search or from My Library

Images make your presentation more interesting and pleasant. With Zoho Show, you can add pictures stored on your computer, or find a picture online to illustrate important information. You can even add multiple images to the same slide, add images to the slide master, or place images in the slide background.

Different ways to find an image

You can add pictures to your slide from the following sources:
  • My Computer: Add an image stored on your hard drive.
  • My Library: Select from pictures that you've uploaded to your Zoho Show Library.
  • URL: Use an image from the web by copying and pasting the URL.
  • Web Search: Search for a picture online using Google and Flickr.
  • Flickr: Insert a picture posted publicly on Flickr (an online resource featuring pictures uploaded by photographers and enthusiasts all over the world).

Add an image from your computer

1. Click Image from Insert section in the top bar and click My Library within the window.

2. Click + Add Picture to locate the picture you want to add from your computer and click Open.
You'll see a thumbnail view of the image appear under My Library.

3. Hover over the image you want to add and click the Plus  icon. Or, click to select the image and then click the Insert.
You can also double-click to quickly add them on your slide.

Add an Image from My Library

When you add an image from your computer, it automatically gets saved under My Library. You can reuse this image in the future from within My Library without having to search for it again from the source location.

1. Click Image from Insert section in the top bar and click My Library within the window.
You'll see all of the images available in your Library.

2. Select one or more images to insert
 a. To add a single image,  hover over the image you want and click the Plus  icon. Or, click the image to select it and then click Insert. You can also double-click to quickly add them on your slide.

b. To add multiple images, press the Shift key, select all of the images you want to add, and click Insert. The images will appear on the slide.

The My Library window also lets you manage your image library by searching, sorting, and deleting images you no longer need:
  • Search for an image: To narrow down the list of images in My Library, click the Search bar and enter your search keyword.

  • Sort your images: To make your list of images easier to sift through, click the Sort By  menu in the right and select a sorting option.
There are four ways to sort:
    • Name (A-Z/0-9): Sorts your image files in ascending order of the alphabet  (A-Z) or numbers (0-9).
    • Name (Z-A/9-0): Sorts your image files in descending order of the alphabet (Z-A) or numbers (9-0).
    • Oldest first: Sorts your image files chronologically from oldest to newest.
    • Newest first: Sorts your image files chronologically from newest to oldest.

  • Delete an image: To remove an unwanted image from My Library, click the image to select it, then click the Delete  icon. To delete multiple images, press the Shift key, select the images, and click the Delete  icon.

Add an image using a URL

You can embed a picture by adding its URL to your slide. To do this, you'll need to copy the URL from the website where the image is posted and paste it in the Add Image dialog box.

1.  Search for your image on the internet (or use the image search option within Zoho Show). Right-click the selected image, and choose Copy Image URL from the dropdown list.

2. Click the Image from Insert section in the top bar and click URL. Paste the copied URL in the text box.
A thumbnail image of the picture will appear in the window.

The preview will only appear if the URL is correct. Larger images will take longer to appear.
3. Click the Plus  icon on the image or double-click to quickly add them on your slide.
The picture box will appear on the slide, and you can resize or move it using the pointers at the edges.

If you don't have the picture you want on your computer, you can search for it online using Google or Flickr.
  • Google: Find and insert images available on Google search. By default, Google search shows images that are public and free to user for your own projects.
  • Flickr: Find images posted publicly on your Flickr album, sync them to your Zoho account, and insert them into your slides. By default, Flickr uses only images that are licensed under Creative Commons and aren't password protected, which means you can use them for your own projects.
To add an image using a web search,
1. Click Image from Insert section in the top bar and click Search within the window.

2. Choose the image source (Google or Flickr) from the dropdown list next to the search box.

3. Type in your search term in the Search box and press Enter. A list of related images will appear in the window.

4. Select one or more images to insert:
a. To add a single image, hover over the image you want and click the Plus  icon or double-click to quickly add them on your slide.

b. To add multiple images, press the Shift key, select the images you want to add, and click Insert. The images will appear on the slide.

Add an image from flickr

1. Click Image from Insert section in the top bar and click Flickr within the window.

2. Click Authenticate Yahoo to log in to your Yahoo account and view your Flickr images.
This is a one-time process, as Flickr automatically syncs all your files to Zoho Show without the need to log in again.
3. Click the picture you want to add from your Flickr library. The image will appear on the slide.
You can switch between multiple Flickr accounts to choose your favorite images.

Manipulate an image on a slide

After you insert an image, you have many ways to edit or add to it:
  • Adjust the size of the image by dragging the pointers at the edges.
  • Change the image by clicking the  icon on the image and choosing the image you want.
  • Crop the image to get just the part you want.
  • Format to add background colors, hyperlinks, and more.
Note about copyrighted images
While adding images to your slides, make sure that you have the legal right to use them. Most images that you can buy or download online are protected by copyright, which limits your right to use them. Images licensed under Creative Commons are available for wider use. If you use images licensed under Creative Commons in your slideshow, they will be labeled with the CC  icon.
