Add a Text Box
Text boxes allow you to insert text anywhere on a slide apart from the normal text placeholder areas for a layout, such as a caption for a table or a label for a video. Every text box in Zoho Show can be customized to determine the look of the text (including font style, font size, font color, alignment, and spacing). A text box created in Normal View can be edited; a text box created in Master View adds permanent and uneditable text to all the slides that follow its layout.
To add a text box to a slide,
1. Click Text from the Insert section in the top bar and select Textbox at the left.
You will see a list of text box styles within the window.
2. Choose your desired text style you want to apply,.
A text box with dummy text will appear to demonstrate the style options.
3. Start to type within the text box.
You can adjust the size of text box if needed, by dragging the pointer at the edges.
You can move, resize, or rotate the text box, change its color, and a lot more using formats.
Add a Special Character or Symbol
Special characters such as … or ⨯ and symbols such as ¶ or ‰ are useful while writing mathematical equations, inserting global currency symbols, or designing flow charts.
To add a special character or symbol,
1. Click Text from the Insert section in the top bar and select Symbol at the left.
You will see a list of different categories of symbols within the window.
2. Choose your appropriate category of symbols from the list.
Symbols or characters are broadly divided into five categories as below. For example, choose Currency if you want to insert a dollar ($) or Rupee (₹) symbol.
- Currency contains various currency symbols to denote various monetary values.
- Punctuation contains punctuation marks such as quotation marks or hyphens to help organize or structure your content.
- Arrow contains directional symbols to point or indicate a direction such as in a flow chart or to indicate clockwise/anticlockwise movements.
- Math and Science contains symbols used in mathematical and scientific equations to denote relationships in various formulas.
- Miscellaneous contains other extra characters/symbols which represent concepts from a variety of categories like musical notation, emoji, etc.
Use the navigation arrows to switch between different categories.
3. Once the character/symbol appears on the slide, you can adjust the size of the symbol by clicking and dragging the pointer inward or outward from the edge of the character.
