Configure a rule

Configure a rule

  1. Go to CONFIGURE THE CONDITION in the Add Condition screen.
  2. If you want to filter users based on criteria, choose Users matching criteria under Apply rule to. Otherwise choose All members.
  3. Note: If you have already added one or more rules, choosing Other members will assign the app to users that haven't matched the previous rules.
  4. If you chose Users matching the criteriaset the criteria.
  5. If you've added more than one criteria, edit Criteria Pattern to control how users are filtered.
  6. Choose the Application Setting. The application setting changes based on the application that is being assigned.
  7. Save the rule.
  8. Note: When two rules are present, removing the first rule will affect the other. If the second rule was applied to Other members, it will be changed to All members.

Criteria Pattern

You can further fine tune the rule by clicking Edit next to CRITERIA PATTERN.
CRITERIA PATTERN uses brackets to group criteria and change the way they relate to each other. Let's look at a few examples:
  1. ((1 AND 2) OR 3) — This means the user must fit either the 3rd criteria or the first two criteria for the rule to apply to them.
  2. (1 AND (2 OR 3)) — This means the user must fit the first criteria and either of the last two criteria for the rule to apply to them.
