Yes, but very rarely and only after careful consideration. Usually, we pause emails from an account when there's a huge chance for the user's sender domain to get blacklisted or for misuse of our service. This could be due to high bounces, complaints, unsubscribes, spam traps, or violation of laws.
To resolve this, you'll need to take a closer look at your email practices and mailing list. Once you refine your mailing list and email practices, we'll be glad to help you get back in your email marketing venture. We suggest that you work on the following factors that may have contributed to your account's suspension.
Violating Terms of Use
Any account that violates the
Zoho Campaigns Terms of Use will be frozen irrespective of its subscription plan. The activities below are illegal in email marketing and should be avoided:
- Sending emails to contacts who haven't given their permission
- Using purchased, collected, or harvested email addresses
- Any activity that violates the regulations for commercial emails such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), CAN-SPAM (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing), ACMA (Australian Communication and Media Authority), CASL (Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation), or any applicable local, state, national, or international laws
It's also important to mention your business information in the email footer clearly for proper
sender recognition.
Abuse complaints
Your account could be frozen due to an abuse complaint. Complaints can be:
- Directly from your contacts
- Directly from anti-spam services
- From marking of spam by contacts
All types of abuse complaints can negatively affect your domain reputation, thereby having great impact on your email deliverability. High complaint rate is a warning sign that you've to take prompt steps to refine your mailing list and email practices.

Spam trap hit
We might have frozen your account if it had spam trap hit. Spam traps are email addresses used by anti-spam services to find senders with poor list maintenance and poor email practices. A spam trap resembles a normal email address, but doesn't respond to emails or sign up for mailing lists. An unhygienic mailing list results in spam trap hits. As such, the sender's domain reputation will suffer every time a spam trap is hit.

Bounces
If your emails have a high bounce rate, this can lead to your account getting frozen. Emails that don't get delivered and return to the sender are called
bounces. High bounces lead to poor domain reputation and inbox placement. That's why Zoho Campaigns gives special care to show you the reason for bounces in your email in
Campaigns Reports.

Unsubscribes
Uninterested contacts want to get out of your mailing list by unsubscribing. When they find it hard, they may mark it as spam or report abuse. We strongly recommend that you include a clear unsubscribe link in your emails.
Every unsubscribe is viewed as a contact's negative response by the spam filters. When there's a high unsubscribe rate in your emails, we freeze your account to prevent your domain from suffering further negative score (reputation).
If you import any unsubscribed email addresses from another email marketing service, there's a high chance for getting spam complaints.

Permanent termination
- We will permanently terminate an account if it violates the Zoho Campaigns Terms of Use, as well as any applicable local, state, national, or international laws.
- If the deliverability issues continue despite warnings and the account exceeds the threshold limit for bounces, complaints, spam traps, and unsubscribes, then Zoho Campaigns will terminate the account.
