Email templates allow you to create personalised, and reusable content for your email communication and marketing. Email templates can be created in the following ways:
- From templates
- Using HTML
- From scratch
Creating Email Templates
To create an email template:
- Go to Setup > Customization > Templates.
- Click New Template under the Email tab.
- In the Create Email Template pop-up, select the module to create the template for and click Next.
- Create a template using Custom Templates, Insert HTML, or a Blank Template.
View the Preview and make changes if necessary. - In the Save Template pop-up, select an existing or new folder to save the template to.
You can save the template to Public Email Templates in which case the templates would be accessible for everyone or save it to a new folder.
From Custom Templates
- In the Template Gallery page, select a template and perform the following steps:
- Enter a template name and subject.
- Drag and drop the necessary components and add the desired content.
- In a text field, type # to insert a merge field (dynamic values).
- Click Save.
Insert HTML
- In the Template Gallery page, click Insert HTML/Plain Text.
- Click the Edit HTML (</>) icon to open the HTML editor.
- Paste the code in the HTML editor and click Insert.
- Enter a template name and subject and click Save.
Template from scratch
- In the Template Gallery page, select the Blank template.
- Enter a template name and subject.
- Drag and drop the necessary components and add the desired content.
- In a text field, type # to insert a merge field (dynamic values).
- Click Save.
