When creating a presentation, you may sometimes find that you’ve accidentally used an incorrect phrase all throughout the document. Locating each and every occurrence of this error can be both difficult and time-consuming. With the Find and Replace tool, the program can not only search out every instance of this phrase, but also replace it automatically. This tool may be helpful when you need to eliminate a word or phrase, change style format, or find special characters within a large document.
To find and replace text,
1. Select the REVIEW mode in the right pane and choose Tools.
2. Enter the word or phrase to search for into the Find text box.
The first occurrence of the search word will appear highlighted on the slide in grey color.
3. Use the
Find Previous and
Find Next arrows to go to the next or previous occurrence of the word in the presentation.
You can also narrow or broaden your search by enabling the Match Case checkbox to search only for words that have the same letter case, in addition to spelling.
You can also use characters, such as asterisks and question marks, during your search.
4. Enter the replacement word or phrase in the Replace text box and click the dropdown to do the following:
- Select Replace to replace individual occurrences with the new word or phrase.
- Select Replace All to replace all the occurrences of the search word or phrase in the whole presentation.
A notification of the total number of replacements made will be displayed.
