1. What is the difference between a survey and a poll?

A poll can be used to collect votes or to record an opinion. Surveys are online questionnaires that can be sent out to respondents to collect their responses. Surveys can also be used as a poll.

2. What is the difference between Zoho Survey and Zoho Forms?

The purpose of the two products are different. Zoho Survey focuses on feedback and opinion collection. You have a lot more options to personalize your questions, send your questions to your audience, purchase a research panel for your survey, and customized reports with multiple export options. Zoho Forms, on the other hand, focuses of data collection from different websites and applications. It provides multiple integrations to transfer the collected information to where you need it, conditional rules for emails and task assignment.

3. I have a set of questions in the form of a PDF. Can I upload it so that it takes the questions from the PDF to use them in the survey?

Sorry, Zoho Survey does not currently support uploading a PDF to use the questions in it as a survey.

4. Why does my survey say that it is closed when I try to access it?

In Zoho Survey's basic free plan, we support only 150 responses per survey. This may have happened because your survey account has reached the response limit.  To collect more responses, we suggest that you upgrade to any of our paid plans. You can compare our various plans here.

5. What is the fastest way to download and save each response?

We would suggest that you export the summary response into a spread sheet (summarized report of all the responses) instead of exporting all the individual responses into a PDF.

6. What is an active session?

If the survey account is logged in from multiple devices, then many active tokens would be available. Each of those is an active session. Make sure you log out every time you finish the work. Select all the tokens and delete it.

7. Can a respondent take the same survey multiple times? Will it attach under the respondent profile as multiple surveys?

Respondents can take the same survey multiple times, but it will not attach as multiple surveys under the respondent profile. Instead, it will only attach as a single survey with their updated responses in Zoho CRM. For your requirement, wesuggest that you to clone the survey everyday and send it to the respondents on a daily basis.

1. To clone the survey, perform the following steps:

2. Click Create New Survey on your Zoho Survey homepage and select Copy From Existing.

3. Select a survey from the existing gallery list and click Use This.

4. Type in a name for the survey in the survey name text box. Click Continue.

5. Navigate to the Launch tab and publish the survey.

6. After publishing, create a new email template within Zoho CRM.

7. Insert the newly cloned survey URL within the email template and click Save.

8. Select the created template while sending out the survey within Zoho CRM. You can clone and create email templates everyday while sending out the survey, so that it will be attached as multiple surveys under the respondent's profile.

8. Is it possible to track the responses I have received and send reminders to defaulters?

You can track the responses you have received if you sent the survey by using Zoho CRM or Zoho Campaigns. Also, Zoho Campaigns let you send reminders to defaulters. There is more you can do with our integrations. Read here.

9. Is it possible to recover the responses of a survey from your database if the page got closed before the respondent could save it?

The respondents' response will reach the Reports section only if they submit the responses. If the survey got closed before they clicked Submit, the responses wouldn't have got saved. Sorry, it is not possible to recover their answers from our database. You can reopen the survey for the respondents to answer it again.

10. Could you help me find individual responses for my survey? Do I need to set anything up to track individual responses?

The respondent's responses will be moved to the reports section of your survey as soon as they click the Submit button. You can log in to your Zoho Survey account and navigate to the Reports section to take a look at the responses you have gotten so far.

11. Is there a way to add a survey to emails, where it automatically sends a feedback survey to someone after they have used Zoho Chat on our website?

In Zoho Survey, you can add the survey URL in your email body and send out the survey with the help of any email marketing tool. However, we do not support any feature that automatically sends feedback surveys, since it is based on the functionality of websites. We would suggest you to contact Zoho Cliq (support@zohocliq.com) or Zoho SalesIQ (support@zohosalesiq.com) to check whether this is possible.

12. I have been trying to find the Zoho Survey application in the App Store on my mobile phone, but couldn't find one. Do you have an iOS/android application for Survey?

Zoho Survey has developed mobile applications for iPhone and Android devices. It's available in the App Store and Google Play Store respectively for download.

13. Is it possible to delete a survey and then restore it when I need it again?

You can trash a survey or a question anytime and restore it at a later point if you require it. This feature moves the item temporarily to the Trash. Read more here:

14. How is Trash different from Delete?

You can use Trash to temporarily delete an item, then restore them at any point. Delete removes the item permanently from the survey. You can only delete an item from the trash, but you cannot restore it once it has been deleted. Deleting a question, a survey, or a custom variable removes all its associated answers permanently and it cannot be retrieved at any point. Learn more here.

15. What are the terms and conditions that I need to keep in mind while subscribing to Zoho Survey?

Read our terms and conditions here.

16. What is the difference between complete and partial responses?

Partial Response: If the respondent clicks Next on at least one survey page, but doesn't click Done (or Submit) on the last page of the survey, it is considered a partial response.

Complete Response: If the respondent clicks Done (or Submit) on the last page of the survey, it is considered a complete response. However, it is possible for the respondents to skip questions without answering, if there are questions that are not mandatory.

17. Are there any specific system and hardware requirements to access the Zoho Survey web application?
