How to track the project progress?

Weekly digest

Weekly Digest lets you view all of the progress for a particular week. Select a week to view the number of work items in each status on a particular day. Switch between weeks to view the progress of every week.
  1. Select Dashboard from the left panel.
  2. Click  in the upper-right corner in Weekly Digest.
  3. Select a particular week to view its progress.
  4. Hover over any day to view the total count of work items in the new, reopened, and closed statuses.
These statuses are fetched from the sprint board.

How to read the weekly digest chart?

Weekly digest chart lets you view the progress for a particular week.
  • Green represents the closed work items
  • Yellow represents the reopened work items
  • Hover over the colors and look at the count of work items reopened or closed when you reopen an item, the yellow bar raises on that particular day
  • If you have closed 8 items and reopened 9 items on that same day then it is represented as 8, 9. They are underlined with the respective colors to easily identify their status
In the weekly digest chart displayed below, September 26th to September 30th is the week selected from the calendar. The team has closed 8 work items on 26th September and reopened 1 work item on September 27th and again closed 6 work items on September 28th.



Overall completion

The Overall Completion chart represents the open and closed percentages of the work items in the project. You can also track the number of work items in the open and closed status. Navigate to Dashboard from the left panel to view the overall completion chart.

  • View the total number of work items in the center of the chart.
  • The work items in the open status are marked in grey and closed status are marked in red.
  • Hover over the Open or Closed status and view the total and individual count of work items (stories, tasks, and bugs).

How to read the overall completion chart?

Overall completion chart represents the total work items, count of open, and closed items in the project.
In the chart above, the team has a total of 108 work items.
  • The total work items in the project are listed in the center of the chart
  • The progress marked in red indicates the closed work items
  • The grey area denotes the work items in open
  • Both the red and grey area represents the percentage of completion
  • Hover over the colored area to view the total count and the count of individual item types
  • You can also view the total count of stories, tasks, and bugs that are closed right below the graph. Here, the team has completed 8 stories, 30 tasks, and 12 bugs
  • Percentage in the red and grey areas represent the overall completion percentage of the project. In this project, the team has more work items in the open status than closed status 

Overall sprint count

View the count of total sprints, upcoming sprints, active sprints, and completed sprints in your project.


Productivity status

Track the status progress of the work items in your project by Most Engaged Users Least Engaged Users , and My Activity .
  1. Navigate to Dashboard from left panel.
  2. View the Status Productivity chart.
  3. Click  in the upper-right corner.
  4. Select 5 Most Engaged Users to view the users who are assigned the most work items.
  5. Select 5 Least Engaged Users to view the users who are assigned the fewest work items.
  6. Select My Activity to view the status progress of your own work items.
  7. Click  next to the filter icon to expand the view of the chart.
  8. Click Close or press Esc to minimize the expanded view.
You can easily identify the users who have more items in the 'To Do' and 'Done' status.

How to read the status productivity chart?

If you want to check the most and least engaged users in your project then status productivity chart is the right place to stop over. In the chart below, Helen owns 12 work items in the status 'To Do' .

  • Track the status based on the color in the legends
  • The member with the most work items leads the '5 Most Engaged Users' chart and the member with the least work items leads the '5 Least Engaged Users' chart
  • Track the count of work items for the most and least engaged users in your project
  • Hover over the bar to view the particular member's progress
  • Estimate the progress of the statuses and view the status that is progressing better
  • View the least engaged users, assign work items, and keep your workspace balanced
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings and get to know the hurdles faced by your team members

Backlog status

The status of the your backlog can be tracked in the dashboard. Track the work items by type (i.e., story, task, or bug), priority, and estimation points.
  1. Navigate to Dashboard from left panel.
  2. Click  in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Item Type to view the number of work items organized by type.
  4. Select By Priority to view the number of work items organized by priority.
  5. Select By Points to view the number of work items organized by estimation points.

How to read the backlog status chart?

The status of your backlog is represented in a pie chart, where every item type and their count is represented.

  • In this chart, the project has Tasks Stories , and Bugs . A total of 10 work items are present in the backlog
  • Hover over the chart and view the count of work items. You can also view them based on estimation points and priority
  • Using estimation points, you can track the count of work items in each point and also the work items that are not estimated
  • Using priority, you can track the count of work items in each priority and take up work accordingly. (First you'll finish the items in high priority and then work upon the medium and low priorities)
  • Overall this chart gives an overview of your backlog


Backlog progress

Track the progress of the backlog in your project by Most Engaged Users or Least Engaged Users.
  1. Click  in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select 5 Most Engaged Users to view the users who are assigned with the most work items.
  3. Select 5 Least Engaged Users to view the users who are assigned with the fewest work items.
  4. Hover over the chart to view the number of work items assigned for each user.

How to read the backlog progress chart?

Similar to the status productivity chart, this chart represents the most and least engaged users based on the number of work items in the backlog.
  • It is a funnel chart that represents the top and bottom five users who have most and least number of work items in the backlog
  • The member who is assigned more work items is listed in the top and the other members are listed down one after the other based on the count
  • In the chart above, Charles ranks first since he has more number of work items and Charles.s ranks the 5th position because he has least number of work items
  • The size of the bars are based on the volume (i.e. count of work items) you can see the thickness of the first two bars, both are of the same size because they hold the same value. Others, have a reduced volume because they have lesser count
  • If you check the 5 Least Engaged Users the chart displays the member with the least count at the top and the member with the highest count at the bottom. But, if you notice you can see the volume will be thinner for the first member and thicker for the last member 

Backlog activity

Track the daily activities in your backlog using the Backlog Activity chart. On a daily basis, you can view:
  1. Navigate to Dashboard from left panel.
  2. Scroll down to fetch the Backlog Activity chart.
  • No. of items added to the backlog.
  • No. of items moved from backlog to the sprint.
  • No. of items moved from sprint to the backlog.

How to read the backlog activity chart?

In addition to the other progress, you can also check the daily activities happening in your backlog.
  • Hover over to a particular date and view the count of work items moved from sprint to backlog or vice-versa, or newly added items
  • The dates are displayed only if there's some activity
  • In the chart below, on Sep 14th the team has moved 20 work items from sprint to the backlog.
  • You can track the action by comparing it with the colors in the legend.


Actual vs planned

The Actual vs Planned chart represents the progress of the sprints towards the end date. It shows whether the sprint will be completed ahead or behind the scheduled date. You can view the progress for all the sprints in a single view. You can also compare the different sprints and monitor its progress.
  1. Click  in the upper-right corner of the chart and view the progress for the current day.
  2. Select the sprint name to view its Actual vs Planned bar.


How to view the chart?
  • You can select a sprint and view its progress bar.
  • The start and end dates are displayed when you hover over the bar. Also, you can view if the sprint is ahead or behind the schedule.
You can view the actual vs planned chart only for the sprints with start and end dates.

How to read the actual vs planned chart?

The actual vs planned chart is sprint specific, you can view the progress of all the sprints in your project here.

What does every legend mean and how to track the progress?
  • % Complete - Represented in dark blue and denotes the completed percentage of the sprint out of 100
  • % Incomplete - Represented in light blue and denotes percentage that is yet to be completed. In Payments sprint, you can see 82% on the bar, which means the sprint has completed 82% and 18% is incomplete
  • Completed Ahead Schedule - Represented in green and is denoted when the sprint is completed ahead of the scheduled end date.
  • Completed Behind Schedule - Represented in red and is denoted when the sprint is completed after the scheduled end date
  • Extended - Represented in dotted lines and is denoted when the sprint is overdue and is still in progress. In the chart above, the payment sprint is extended beyond the scheduled end date and is still in progress. The extended line indicates that the sprint is active even after its end date

Timesheet Tracker

Timesheet tracker tracks the total log hours across the sprints in the project. It will also track the total number of billable and non-billable hours. With this report, the managers can start processing the invoice of the project members.
  • Navigate to  Dashboard from the left panel and view  Timesheet Tracker.


Approval Status Tracker  

Approval status tracker is used to track the total number of hours that are approved, pending, or rejected. Using this chart, the project managers can quickly navigate to the timesheet module and view the pending log hours.
