Job Lock is not enabled for all users. If you’d like to try it out, please
email our support team for beta access.
Job lock allows you to restrict users from editing the entire job or specific fields of the job. Using job, lock you can:
- Lock the entire job
- Lock all the fields
- Lock attachments
- Lock comments
- Disable lock
Job lock can be configured in the After Transition section of blueprints. Every job mapped to this blueprint triggers job lock when the associated transition is performed.
Business cases
- Restrict users from editing the fields in a reimbursement job once the claim is approved
- Restrict users from updating important attachments in the job
- Avoid multiple updates to the same job by different users
- Restrict uses from performing last minute updates to the job
Access privileges
Any user with permission to access Settings will be able to configure job lock.
How to lock a job
- Navigate to and select Automation from the left panel.
- Create a new blueprint or edit an existing one.
- Select a transition and navigate to After in the right panel.
- Click the button next to Update Fields.
- Search for ‘Job Lock’ in the field dropdown, then and select a relevant lock option.
- Click Apply.
- Publish the blueprint.
In the above reimbursement blueprint, once the verification starts, the entire job is configured to be locked, restricting users from modifying the job.
Executing job lock
- Navigate to Jobs and create a new job mapped to the above blueprint.
- Perform the job by clicking the transition buttons.
Once the transition 'Verify request' is performed, the entire job will be locked.
Note: Job lock can be tracked in the Activities section.
Unlock jobs manually
Once a job is locked, it can only be unlocked by users with Admin profile.
- Navigate to Jobs.
- Select the locked job.
- Click at the top-right corner of the job.
- Select Unlock Job from the dropdown.
The job will now be unlocked, and its fields can be edited.
Unlock jobs automatically
Locked jobs can be unlocked automatically right from the After section of blueprint transitions by selecting Job Lock= Disable Lock.
Note: Any user with permission to access Settings will be able to configure disable the lock option in blueprints.
For example, in the reimbursement process, once the claim is Approved, the lock can be disabled.
