A Manual Workflow Trigger can be triggered by a user while creating or editing a record that can be configured through a Workflow Rule. Enabling this will only execute the workflow for a manual action, not automatically.
It's always a good idea to review your outgoing emails. Sometimes, you may even decide not to send an email. The manual trigger gives you the freedom to decide whether to send.
Set up a Manual Trigger Workflow:
Let's look at an example:
You need to create a workflow rule that sends an email to every candidate who has been scheduled for an interview.
- Click Setup > Automation > Workflow Rules.
- Click Create Rule.
- Select Interviews as the Module and enter an appropriate Rule Name. Click Next.
- Select the Create as the Rule Trigger.
- Select the Rule Criteria and click Next.
- Click the + icon next to Send Alerts. Click the Trigger Manually button. It will turn green.
- Click Save.
Now, every time an interview is scheduled for a candidate, a pop-up dialog box will appear where you can review and edit your email to the candidate.
Note:
- Manual trigger only works if the rule trigger is in one of the modules:
Candidates, Job Openings, Interviews, Clients, or Contacts. - Manual trigger works only for the following rule triggers:
Create, Edit, or Create or Edit. - Manual trigger will not work on web forms, API calls, or on the Zoho Recruit mobile app. Alerts will be sent automatically.
- Clicking Skip on the email pop-up will not send the email to the selected candidate or client.
- Any profile with access to the module and the Send Mail permission can send or skip this alert. If a user doesn't have the necessary permission, the default email template the alert is configured with will be sent automatically.
