Other actions in Layouts

Sections in layouts  

Sections are partitions added to the layouts. Related fields in layouts can be categorized and placed together under these sections.   

Create or edit a section  

  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization. 
  2. Select a layout.  
  3. Click the   Add Section  button in the left tray. A new empty section will be created.  
  4. Hover over the section name to display the    . Click on the icon to enter a new section name.  
  5. You can drag and drop the new or available fields from the left tray into this section.   
  6. Click  Save.  
   

Customize field arrangement in sections 

You can customize the field pattern of a section to display all the fields in a single or dual column. 

  1. Hover over a section title and click   at the right corner. 
  2. On choosing Single Column , all the fields will be listed one below the other in one column. 
  3. On choosing Double Column , the fields will be displayed in two columns.  

Delete a section  

  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization. 
  2. Select a layout.  
  3. Hover over the section to display the     icon.  
  4. Click the icon to delete the section.  
  5. Confirm your action.  
The section containing default fields (  Title, Assignee, Due on)   cannot be deleted.    

Edit details

To edit the details of your layout,
  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Hover over a layout, click    , and then select  Edit   Details. Learn how to create a layout. 
  3. Edit the details:
    • Layout Name:   Modify the name of your layout. 
    • Description  : Edit your description about your layout. 
    • Job ID Prefix  : Edit the Job prefix. Use letters, numbers, and symbols, up to a maximum of 4 characters.  
    •   Permissions :
      • Who can add Jobs to this Layout?
        • Org users: Allow all users in the organization to create jobs using this layout.   
        • Specific users: Allow individual users, teams, or roles to create jobs using this layout.   
      • Who can view Jobs in this Layout? - Allow individual users, teams, or roles to view this layout. 
        • If no selection is made here, the jobs will be visible to all the users.      
  4. Click  Save 
  

Edit layout

You can edit the layout and decide on its field permissions here.

Edit field properties

  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Hover over a layout, click    , and then select  Edit   Layout Learn more about the fields used in layouts. 
  3. To edit field properties:
    • Hover over the field and click    at the right corner. 
    • Select  Edit Properties  in the pop-up.
    • Make the required changes and click Ok.
  4. Click  Save  .
  

The new updates will not be reflected in older jobs. Newly created jobs will have the updated layout.  

Modify user privileges

  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Hover over a layout, click    , and then select  Edit   Layout Learn more about profile privileges in Access Control.
  3. To edit privileges:
    • Hover over the field and click    at the right corner. 
    • Select   Set Privileges   in the pop-up.
    • Make the required changes and click Ok. 
  4. Click  Save .


The new privileges will be reflected in both the old and new jobs created using this layout.

Remove Field

  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Hover over a layout, click    , and then select  Edit   Layout .
  3. To remove a field:
    • Hover over the field and click    at the right corner. 
    • Select   Remove Field   in the pop-up.
    • Confirm your action.
  4. Click   Save .
 
The default fields- Title (single-line), Assignee (User dropdown)   and  Due On  (date field)   cannot be deleted. 

Manage blueprints associated to a layout

To view all the blueprints associated with a particular layout,
  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Hover over a layout, click    , and then select   Manage Blueprints  .
The page gets navigated to  Blueprint  module with the selected layout applied as a filter. 

  

Clone layout

To clone a new layout using an existing layout,
  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Hover over a layout, click    , and then select   Clone Layout.
  3. Modify the layout details to suit your custom requirement. 
    • The Job ID Prefix must be unique for every layout. 
  4. Click  Save  .
You can further make modifications to the layout, if needed.

  

Delete layout

When a layout is deleted, all the jobs created under the layout will also be deleted. 

To delete a job,
  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Hover over a layout, click    , and then select  Delete Layout.
  3. Confirm your action.
 

Activate or deactivate layout

When a layout is deactivated, it will no longer be available to request jobs. Jobs already created using this layout will remain active. 
  1. Navigate to    and select  Customization.
  2. Toggle the button at the right end to activate or deactivate the layout.
