Public and Private Extensions

Public and Private Extensions

Extensions in Sigma can be hosted as Public or Private. While public extensions are hosted for a wider audience, private extensions are restricted to smaller circles.

Public  extensions are hosted through Zoho Marketplace, a platform where all Zoho services are listed. Users gain visibility to your extension once it is hosted in Zoho Marketplace along with the other public extensions. From Zoho Marketplace, users will be able to view, install, and use your extension. You can track the usage statistics of your extension from Sigma.

After an extension is submitted to Zoho Marketplace, our team of experts run a check to validate your extension. After successful validation, your extension gets listed in Zoho Marketplace. Take a look at the review guidelines of Zoho Marketplace.

Private extensions can be accessed only by users who have the direct URL of the extension. This URL will be generated once the extension is published privately in Sigma. It is a hashed URL which is confidential. Classify the extension as private, if you’re building the extension for personal or organizational use. Private extensions do not undergo a manual review or testing process by our team of experts. It is readily available for use. Though, Sigma will do an automated validation while publishing the extension.
