Overview of roles
Designation of users are classified as roles. For instance, a user can be a designer, coder, or writer on their professional scale. They can be a manager, leader, or mentor an a managerial scale.
- More than one user can be mapped to a role.
- Also, a user can be assigned more than one role.
Add role
- Navigate to and select Access Control from the left panel.
- Navigate to the Roles tab and click Add Role.
- Fill in the details and click Add.
Edit/delete role
- Navigate to and select Access Control from the left panel.
- Navigate to the Roles tab and select a role name.
- Click to the right of the role name.
- To edit this role, make the modifications and click Save.
- To delete this role, click at the top right corner and confirm your action.
Assign roles to existing users
- Navigate to and select Users from the left panel.
- If the user is not assigned any role yet:
- Click the Add Role button in the Roles column corresponding to the user.
- Pick the role you wish to associate with the user and click Add Role.
- If the user is already associated with roles:
- Click the button next to the existing roles, and click Change user roles.
- Pick the role you wish to associate with the user and click Add Role.
If you want to add a new role, click New Role at the top-right corner of the pop-up.

Usage of roles
Roles are significant while assigning permissions in Layouts and Blueprints.
- Layouts: Specific user roles can be given permission to view or add jobs in Layouts.
For instance, permission add jobs in a design related layout can be restricted to Designers alone.
- Blueprints: Specific user roles can be given permission to perform particular transitions in Blueprints.
For example, any approval related transitions can be restricted for Managers or Reviewers alone.
