Task templates in Zoho Connect

What is a task template?


Sometimes, tasks of a similar nature are repeated at different places. Let's say, you handle your company's website, and every time you need a new page, you assign a task to one of your writers. Instead of creating the same task over and over again, you could simply save an existing task as a template and re-use it when you need it.

How to create a task template?

  • Click Tasks in the left navigation pane.
  • Open the task you'd like to save as a template.
  • Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the task pop-out.
  • From the drop-down, select Save as template.

  • Provide a template name. The maximum characters allowed is 50.
  • Check the items you'd like to use in the template and click Save Template.

Task templates can only be created by the board admins.


How to view saved templates?


You can view the list of templates you've saved by clicking the three-dot menu in the bottom-left corner of the Tasks page, and selecting View Task Templates from the menu. 




How to create a new task from a saved template?

  • Click Tasks in the left navigation pane.
  • Click the three-dot button in the bottom-left corner of the page and select View Task Templates from the menu.

  • Click Create this as task in the right, next to the saved template.


  • In the Template Preview pop-out, modify the task details if needed and click Create this as task.



You can also use a task template directly from the new task pop-out.
  • Click Tasks from the left navigation pane.
  • Click the + icon in the top-right corner of the page or you can do the same from inside a Board.
  • In the new task pop-out, click the icon at the right end of the task name input box.


  • Select a template from your saved list.
  • Modify the details if needed and click Create.


How to delete a task template?

  • Click Tasks in the left navigation pane.
  • Click the three-dot button in the bottom-left corner of the page and select View Task Templates from the menu.
  • Click the template to be deleted.
  • In the Template Preview, click the three-dotted menu in the top-right corner and click Delete.
