You may need to modify field values in your job at various stages. For example, the predicted completion date for the job may vary depending on the progress of the job. Use the Update Fields option to update field values (such as the due date) when a particular action is completed.
To update the fields:
- Click the icon next to Update Fields.
- In the pop-up, click the Select dropdown to select the field to update.
- In the text box, enter the new value to be update the field to.
- Click Apply.
You can add more fields to update by clicking the icon to the right of the text box..
Remove fields from this list by clicking the icon.
- The dropdown includes default fields (Assignee, Priority , Team) and custom fields.
- You can add a maximum of 6 fields for each transition and business rule for Instant Actions.
- You can add a maximum of 3 fields for each transition and business rule for Schedule Actions.
While updating fields in business rules,
- If a layout is selected, the field labels of the associated layout will be displayed.
- If no layout is selected, field title and labels will be displayed.
While updating fields in blueprint transitions,
- Only the field labels will be displayed.
