What is SEO?

Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the activity that is responsible for search engine rankings.

For example: While searching for cupcake stores online, the search engine uses the words you have entered to find sites that are most relevant to your query. There are some results that appear at the top of the list because they contain relevant keywords and headings.
