What are TOTP Authenticator apps?

TOTP Authenticators are mobile applications that use time-based one-time password (TOTP) to verify you during multi-factor authentication. You can sign in to your Zoho account via authenticators such as Google Authenticator, Authy etc.

Register your authenticator app

  1. Make sure your authenticator app is installed on your mobile device before proceeding further.
  2. Sign in to your Zoho account.
  3. Click Multi-factor Authentication on the left pan menu.
  4. Click Setup Now under Time-based OTP.
  5. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code.
  6. Enter the OTP generated on your authenticator app, then click Verify.

Sign in using your Authenticator app

  1. Go to Zoho Accounts.
  2. Enter your email address, then click NEXT.
  3. Enter your password, then click SIGN IN.
  4. Open your Authenticator app on your mobile device.
  5. Enter the OTP displayed on your Authenticator app, then click VERIFY.
If you have trouble scanning the QR code, you can opt to manually enter the shown code into your app.

Configure Authenticator app on your new mobile device

  1. Make sure
    1. Your authenticator app is installed on your new mobile device.
    2. You have a backup verification code with you.
  2. Sign in to your Zoho account.
  3. Click Multi-factor Authentication on the left pan menu.
  4. Click Change Configuration under Time-Based OTP.
  5. Open the authenticator app on your new mobile and scan the QR code.
  6. Enter the OTP generated on your Authenticator app, then click Verify.
If you have your old device with you, you can use that to verify your sign-in. In case you don't, sign in using a backup verification code.
