As a Facebook Marketing Partner and Instagram Partner, we try and bring the best solutions to you. However, due to limitations with
Instagram's new APIs, you need to keep a few points in mind while posting images to Instagram.
If you manage an Instagram Business Profile on Zoho Social, here's what you need to know:
- You can directly publish or schedule 1 image as a .png or .jpeg file. You can also upload a non-animated .gif file. The maximum file size is 8 MB. If you want to add multiple images to your post, you need to upload them natively from the Instagram mobile app. Currently, multiple images aren't supported for Business Profiles.
- The aspect ratio of the image you'd like to directly publish or schedule must be within the range of 4:5 (for Portrait) and 1.91:1 (for Landscape).
Here are a few examples of the possible aspect ratios from the specified range:
So what are aspect ratios?
The ratio of the width to the height of an image is its aspect ratio. Say you want to upload an image of 800 x 400 pixels. Its aspect ratio will be 2 : 1. This exceeds the allowed range for direct publishing so you'll have to resize the image.
Example:
320 x 400 pixels will be a tall, portrait image with the aspect ratio 4: 5
400 x 400 pixels will be a square image with the aspect ratio 1: 1
600 x 400 pixels will have the aspect ratio 3: 2 (or, 1.5: 1)
764 x 400 pixels will be a wide, landscape image with the aspect ratio 1.91: 1
We recommend you post square photos to Instagram that will have 1: 1 aspect ratio. If that doesn't work, modify the aspect ratio by adding borders.
