Screen sharing for online meetings and webinars
Presenters can share their screen or selected application windows during an online meeting or webinar. This helps presenters deliver presentations and give demonstrations to convey ideas better. Participants are also allowed to share their screen for collaboration during online meetings.
How to share a screen or application in:
Chrome
- Enter your meeting or webinar window.
- Select your audio option and click Start sharing. A window will appear.
- Select your entire screen, or an application you want to share, and click Share.
Selecting an application
Firefox
- Enter your meeting or webinar window.
- Select your audio option and click Start sharing. A pop-up will appear.
- Select the screen you want to share and click Allow.
Zoho Meeting Desktop app
- Enter your meeting or webinar window.
- Select your audio option and click Start sharing.
- To share your screen (or a connected monitor screen), click Entire screen. Then click the thumbnail of the screen you want to share and click Share.
- To share an application, click Application window. Then select the application you want to share and click Share.
Note
- Keep app windows open - You cannot share an application window if you've minimized it.
- Switching screens - To switch from sharing one screen to another, stop screen sharing and initiate it again with the new screen or application.
- Recording screen/app sharing - Screen and application sharing will be captured in meeting and webinar recordings.
- Application windows can only be shared using the Zoho Meeting Desktop app or Google Chrome browser.
- Extension required for Chrome - You need to add the Zoho Meeting Chrome extension to share screens using the Chrome browser.
- App sharing from connected monitors - Currently, only Mac users can do app sharing from connected monitors using the Zoho Meeting desktop app. However, both Mac and Windows users can do app sharing from connected monitors using the Google Chrome browser.
- Sharing Powerpoint and Keynote - You may use the Zoho Meeting Desktop app to deliver presentations using Microsoft Powerpoint and Apple Keynote as known issues exist for sharing these applications on Chrome.
Sharing screens in incognito mode
To share screens while in the incognito mode, you need to change the settings of your Zoho Meeting Chrome extension.
To make the extension available in incognito or guest browsing mode:
- Right-click the Zoho Meeting extension in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser window.
- Select Manage extensions.
- Switch on Allow in incognito.
Note
You cannot share screens in guest browsing mode as there are limitations to use extensions in guest windows.
