Secure your notes inside Notebook using the in-built lock feature available in the application. The lock in Notebook includes the ability to set a passcode and a hint for the same as well. You can lock your notes and notebooks in more than one way. These include 4-digit passcode, 6-digit passcode, alphanumeric passcode, Face ID, and Fingerprint ID. To lock your notes, follow these steps :
iOS, Android & Mac :
- Swipe left on a notebook or a note card and tap or click the Lock icon .
- For Mac users, right-click and select Lock.
- Type your passcode twice and create a hint.
- Click Save or Set Passcode.
iOS alternate methods :
- Long press and select a note card.
- Tap the lock icon.

- Open a note card.
- Click More (three dots ).
- Click Lock.
Android alternate methods :
- Open a notebook or a note card and tap More ( three dots ).
- Tap Lock.
- Toggle Turn Passcode On.
- Select your choice of a passcode.
- Type your passcode twice and create a hint.
- Click Save.

- Long press and select a note card.
- Tap More. ( three dots )
- Tap Lock.
Web, Windows & Linux :
- For notebooks, hover on a notebook and click the Lock icon.
- For note cards, place the mouse cursor at the top right of a note card (in preview mode) and click the Lock icon.

- Open a note card and click the lock icon present at the bottom.
(or)
- Right-click a note card and click Lock.
Note: If you have already set a lock, the respective notebook or note card will be locked immediately. If you haven't set a lock, you have to set a passcode.
